Modern CNC lathe, CNC lathe Also called (acronym for Computer Numerical Control), is in some ways the greatest evolution of the machine tool which we are talking. It can do everything that others do the types described above but it all takes place in a totally automatic controlled by a computer.
The parameters of the desired piece are placed in a special program and the machine elements move driven by the computer to which, at the same time processing, the signals coming from various sensors (laser) places on essential points so as to constantly keep an eye the good performance of the work.
If for any reason (for example, the consumption of the tool) the sensor detects that the workpiece no longer falls in the size set there is a system which immediately provides the required correction. The accuracy of the obtained pieces with this machine is very high, of the order of hundredths or even thousandths of a millimeter. In this case the operator is limited to the data shown by computer and possibly testing of products sampled.
